Alamosa School District passed a bond in 2008 and received BEST funding to build two elementary schools totaling 148,000 SF, replacing the need for three separate schools. Neenan supported Alamosa with pre-bond services and the BEST application process.

The new school campus consists of two identical schools that are connected by playgrounds and landscaping. Designers focused on clean, modern, and welcoming design themes for Alamosa’s young students. Inside the school, Neenan interior designers used textures and vivid colors of the surrounding environment to aid in wayfinding for children. Nearly every space in each school has daylighting and outdoor views, which is proven to increase student achievement. Special spaces in the school include community classrooms and small group break-out areas next to each classroom.
